It made me happy.

And then happy again, because guess what? There’s a sequel!

This book was amazing. I don’t even know how to review it, really. It alternates between two POVs, Em and Marina. Marina is an insecure girl. Her friends are shallow, her parents are pretty much divorced even if they haven’t come out and said it, and she’s been in love with James, her child-hood best friend for as long as she can remember. That doesn’t mean Marina’s weak. I really enjoyed her character. She felt real. She’s fiercely loyal, and a great friend. She can always tell when someone’s lying, her senses are sharp.

Here’s how I imagine Marina:

Em is strong, willing, brave, and has a good heart; she can’t kill someone she loves, even with thousands of other lives on the line. Em’s constantly willing to put herself in danger for the people she loves.

Here’s how I imagine Em:

Notice it’s the same girl? Hmm….

Along with Em and Marina, there’s James and Finn.

James is described as “a gorgeous, introverted science prodigy”.

Finn is funny, loyal, kind, and sweet,

These 4 characters are caught up in a spin of things: time travel, torture, sacrifice, imprisonment, time paradoxes, shootings, romance (for once it’s not an annoying love triangle!)

A time-travel machine was created…but will it be used for good?

Can you kill someone you love if you know that they become a monster later in life? Can you let yourself stop thousands of deaths by killing their younger, innocent self and live with the burden of knowing that a part of you was once in love with them? These and many other questions will be answered in All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill.

I don’t want to do an in-depth review of this book because I don’t want to spoil anything. It is one of the best books I have ever read and I’m really looking forward to the sequel! The emotions in this book are high. I was desperate throughout the book to know how it would end. I was fan-girling the whole way through.

My rating: 5 stars.
